This 1987 Porsche 928 S4 was sold new at Brumos Atlanta of Smyrna, Georgia and remained in the state until 2002. It was acquired by the selling dealer from a PCA member earlier this month and is finished Silver Metallic over Silver Grey special leather. Power comes from a 5.0-liter DOHC V8 paired with a rear-mounted 4-speed automatic transaxle, and powder coated valve covers have been added along with an aftermarket Blaupunkt CD player and later-model Porsche wheels. A timing belt service is noted by the included records in October 2011, and more recent maintenance is described below. This 928 is now being offered in North Carolina with the original window sticker, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Wisconsin title.
Styling updates for the 928 in 1987 included revised front and rear bumpers, a new rear wing, and wider taillights than the early models. This example is finished in Silver Metallic and is equipped with side moldings and a sunroof. No history of accidents or other damage is displayed on the included Carfax report.
17″ wheels from a later-model Porsche have been added and wear Sumitomo HTR ZIII tires. Updated front brake calipers with a 2mm larger piston were equipped on 928s beginning in 1987.
The interior is trimmed in Silver Grey special leather with matching carpeting, a leatherette belt, and black floor mats. A Blaupunkt CD radio has been fitted in place of the factory unit.
Other interior options include a raised hub steering wheel, alarm system, and increased air conditioning. An A/C service performed in 2015 included a new compressor and line along with fresh R134 refrigerant. Just over 63,800 miles are currently shown on the odometer, which was also repaired in 2015 with new gears.
The 5.0-liter DOHC V8 was revised for the 1987 model year with updated pistons, cylinder heads, camshafts, intake valves, and a new intake. The intake manifold on this example has been powder coated in a non-factory grey, and power is sent to the rear wheels thorough a 4-speed automatic transaxle. Work performed in February 2018 included a new timing belt tensioner, battery, water temperature sensor, and air filter, as well as an oil and filter change. The selling dealer recently replaced the valve cover gaskets.
Undercarriage photos in the gallery show the chassis, suspension, braking, and exhaust components.
The original window sticker displays the colors and options, as well as a total new price of just under $65k. A number of service records also come with the car and indicate a new timing belt, spark plugs, and intake manifold gaskets in 2011.
An accident-free Carfax report has been provided by the seller, showing ownership in Georgia, Missouri, and Wisconsin.
