This 2000 Mercedes-Benz SL500 was sold new in California and remained there until it was acquired by the selling dealer in 2018. Power is provided by a 5.0-liter M113 V8 backed by a 5-speed automatic transmission, and factory equipment includes the AMG sport package and Xenon lights in addition to a removable hardtop. Since purchasing the car, the seller has replaced two engine mounts, both strut mounts, both valve cover gaskets, trunk shocks, antenna mast, tires, and more. This SL500 is now being offered at no reserve with records for the recent work, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Ohio title.
The car is finished in Bright Silver and features the optional AMG sport package, which includes AMG bumpers, side skirts, and staggered AMG 5-spoke wheels. The package reportedly cost over $5,000 when new. Detailed photos of the black convertible top are provided, and the retractable rollover bar is pictured both extended and stowed. Xenon headlights are fitted.
The seller had the front bumper refinished due to curb rash, and also replaced the antenna along with its grommet. New all-season performance tires in stock AMG sizes were fitted and road-force balanced in preparation for sale. A color-matched removable hardtop is included.
A video showing the convertible top opening is viewable above, and one of the top closing can be viewed here.
The cabin is finished in black with dark burlwood veneers on the center stack, doors, and steering wheel rim, and is equipped with orthopedic seats. Wear is visible on the lower driver’s seat cushion and bolsters, as well as on the steering wheel rim.
The car retains the stock stereo and was detailed in preparation for sale. 79,500 miles are shown on the digital odometer.
The 5.0-liter M113 V8 was factory rated at 302 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque. It is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission. Regular service updates are noted on the attached Carfax report. In preparation for the sale, the selling dealer replaced two motor mounts, both front strut mounts, both valve cover gaskets, all 4 tires, and performed an oil and filter change.
The Carfax indicates history in California from new through the seller’s acquisition in early 2018. Regular service and mileage updates also are shown, and no accidents or other issues are indicated.
