Hemmings Find of the Day – 1955 Plymouth Belvedere

Unrestored 1955 Plymouth Belvedere four-door for sale on Hemmings.com. From the seller’s description:

4 dr sedan 2 tone with sport tone trim showing only a bit of 63 yr old patina in that some of the paint on fenders & top is thinning a bit. 6 cylinder with Powerflite transmission. Car has only just over 38,000 miles. Turquoise bottom, Glade Green (I believe) top. I’ve owned this car for 10 years and put 10,000 miles on it. It is unrestored, including its original interior, with some of the since-new lubrication stickers still on the doorpost. I have maintained it mechanically. and kept it waxed. Complete list of parts & service done since my ownership is available + many 2018 photos. I also have the build sheet from Chrysler. “Roxanne” is not a ‘garage queen.’ She is driven regularly at least once/two weeks. Lack of garage space due to purchase of 1962 Valiant is causing me to sell. Car has been garaged for most of its life.

Extra equipment factory installed:

Genuine MoPar rear fender skirts complete with original mounting instructions (I have removed & stored them)

Variable speed electric wipers

Windshield washer foot operated (pump works; bag is torn)

Working AM factory radio with rear seat speaker

‘Hollywood’ ivory steering wheel

Heater (I believe this was standard equipment)

Outside rear view mirror (driver side)

Accessory group: cigar lighter, full wheel covers, directional signals, glove box lock

Whitewall bias ply tires will need replacing soon, but still safe to drive. Spare is included but needs replacement. Trunk mat is original and in first class shape.

This car won the President’s Cup in the 2011 WPC Photo Contest as the best original and unrestored car.

“It’s original only once!
