This 1993 BMW 525 TDS was purchased new just outside of Paris, reportedly stayed with its first owner in Brittany until 2016, and was imported from France to the US by the seller in July 2018. The car is finished in Brocade Red Metallic over a tan cloth interior and powered by a 2.5L M51 turbodiesel inline-six paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. A December 2017 service included a new battery and rear brakes, ECU repair, oil change, and more. This E34 shows just over 113k kilometers (~70k miles) and is offered with two sets of keys, books and manuals, French license plates, a copy of its previous French registration, import documents, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Brocade Red Metallic, with the paintwork shown up close in a number of gallery photos below. A paint correction was performed in September 2018 along with repainting of the right front fender and trunk lid to repair dents.
Factory 15″ wheels are mounted with 205/65 tires, which are reportedly new in the rear and show 90% tread life up front. The seller notes remaining blemishes including two dents and a scratch on the passenger side as well as a scuff on the left front bumper.
The cabin is trimmed in tan cloth with matching carpeting and plastics. Amenities include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, front seat armrests, and air conditioning, the latter of which is said to work well.
Metric instrumentation is shown during a cold start in the video above and includes a digital odometer showing just over 113k kilometers (~70k miles), approximately 1,600 km of which have been driven under current ownership. A sagging headliner and delaminating door panels are noted by the seller.
The 2.5L M51D25 turbodiesel inline-six was rated at 141 horsepower with 192 lb-ft of torque when new and is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. An oil change and ECU repair were performed in December 2017 as well as replacement of the pre-warming relay, battery, and rear brake pads. The seller notes that the hood struts are weak.
A factory tool kit is mounted beneath the trunk lid, including wrenches and grey-handled screwdriver as well as small spares.
Included in the sale are two sets of factory keys, French-language factory literature, a trailer hitch, French license plates, and a copy of the first registration. Service records include a maintenance booklet with stamps dating from new to 2011 as well as a recent invoice.
An interstate driving video is provided above, and another showing in-town driving is also available.
