This 1993 Fiat Tempra 1.6SX is a right-hand drive model sold new in the UK by Rockingham Motors and powered by a 1.6L engine driving the front wheels via a 5-speed transmission. The car remained with the original owner through his passing in 2015, and subsequently belonged to a member of the Fiat Motor Club of Great Britain. The seller acquired the car in 2018 prior to getting married in the United States, and subsequently took the car on a fundraising road trip from Vermont to California for wildfire relief. The seller will donate an additional 10% of the proceeds from the sale to a wildfire relief charity. In preparation for the trip, the seller installed a new clutch, exhaust system, new spark plugs, and performed an oil and filter change, and the car was also given a post-trip check-up in California. Now in Sonoma, California, this Tempra is offered with service records beginning with the original owner, UK tax discs since 2005, and a Rhode Island registration in the seller’s traveling partner’s name.

The Tempra was styled by Ercole Spada, then working for the I.DE.A Institute. The Rosso Shiraz Metallic finish is contrasted by black plastic rub strips, and black vinyl appliques on the B and C-pillars. 16″ 4-spoke alloy wheels are fitted with Alpha tires installed in the UK. Parking scuffs and other finish imperfections are shown in the gallery.

A 14-minute walkaround video is viewable above. The seller notes an approximately 1″ strip of lifting clear coat on the left front fender, and pictures are provided of a damaged area on the left rear door and quarter. Fading is visible in the roof and right rear quarter panel clear coat, and the black vinyl pillar trim is cracked. A bubble of rust is pictured at the edge of the right rear door.

The cabin features light grey seat upholstery and carpets contrasted by darker grey interior plastics. Wear is visible on the driver’s seat outer bolster, and the seller describes a small hole in the carpet under the throttle pedal, which is concealed by the floor mat. The car retains a factory steering wheel, and a single-DIN sized storage cubby is installed in place of the factory stereo.

The clock is stuck on UK time as the time setting button is not functional. The digital instrumentation is backlit, and shown in both daylight and night-time conditions. Of the 102k miles indicated, the seller added approximately 7k miles on a recent 5-week long North American road trip, and an additional 4k miles while in the UK.

The Lampredi-based 1,581cc inline-four sends power to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual transaxle. Prior to leaving the UK the seller had the car serviced with new spark plugs, an oil and filter change, and a new exhaust system. A new clutch was installed in the United States, and the flywheel was balanced at that time. The most recent service was performed by Wine Country Motors in Napa, where minor leaks were found at the oil pan and transmission gaiter. Approximately 1/2 liter of transmission oil was added, and the seller was reportedly advised to check the fluid level in 5,000 miles.

Service records are available beginning with the original owner. The service booklet is stamped every 9,000 miles through 45,333 miles, at which time the owner began using an independent garage that supplied handwritten receipts. Other service documentation is shown in the gallery.

Rust repair was performed in the UK with the original owner, and was redone by the second owner. The second owner’s experience with the car, including descriptions of the rust repair, can be found on his blog. The seller describes some remaining surface rust on the rear floor where the exhaust hangers and bumper mounts meet the pan.

The route of the seller’s recent American road trip is shown above, and totaled approximately 6,000 miles. Another 1,000 miles were recently added on a trip to Seattle. In addition to the funds raised in advance of their trip, 10% of the proceeds from this sale will be donated to a wildfire relief charity.
